Wei Zhu is the CEO and Founder of Igloo (formerly Axinan), a Singapore-based full-stack insurtech firm that enables smart, digital insurance for the Internet economy. He has amassed decades of experience in founding and growing technology companies and products globally, and have held leadership roles at conglomerates such as Grab, Facebook and Microsoft.

Wei Zhu was one of the first 100 engineers of Facebook and spent six years in San Francisco, where he launched Facebook Connect – a single sign-on feature used by hundreds of millions of people on the web to log in to third-party sites using their Facebook identity. Before that, Wei spent eight years at Microsoft, where he rose up the ranks to eventually becoming Principal Development Lead at the tech giant – leading the design and development of Live Desktop, the web platform and application of Live Mesh, as well as in the SharePoint Server within Microsoft Office.

Prior to founding Igloo, Wei was at Southeast Asia’s largest ride-hailing company Grab’s first CTO in 2014. He was charged with the development and execution of new technologies, in addition to planning for risk and growth – where he was instrumental to help scale the company and build innovative products.

Wei holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering from the University of Washington.
