Sue Bostrom is former executive vice president and chief marketing officer at Cisco Systems. With almost 14 years at Cisco Systems in a variety of roles and more than 20 years of strategic marketing experience, she was responsible for developing and communicating Cisco’s vision and strategy through positioning, branding, advertising, and product marketing. She also had responsibility for the Worldwide Government Affairs organization and Cisco’s Small Business Council.

Bostrom also served as the executive sponsor of the Women’s Initiative at Cisco from 2001 through 2004. Prior to her role as Cisco’s chief marketing officer, Bostrom built and led the Internet Business Solutions Group (IBSG), bringing vertical expertise and Internet business best practices to Global Fortune 500 companies and heads of state.

Previously, Bostrom held leadership positions at FTP Software, National Semiconductor and McKinsey & Company. She serves on the board of directors for Varian Medical Systems, Cadence Design Systems, Stanford Hospital & Clinics and Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. She also serves on the advisory board of the Stanford Institute for Economic Policy Research (SIEPR) and the Stanford Graduate School Business Advisory Council.

Bostrom holds an MBA degree from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and BS degree in marketing from the University of Illinois, graduating in the top 1% of her class.
