Quan joined IDG Capital in 1993 and has been the Managing Director since 1995. Quan got his bachelor degree in science from China Science and Technology University in 1981, a master's degree from the Chinese Academy of Science in 1984, and a Ph.D. in fiber optics from Rutgers University in 1989. He has won awards from NASA and holds U.S. patent in fiber optic devices.
