Since arriving in NYC in 1994, Philip has been deeply immersed in technology, real estate, and entrepreneurial ventures. He has co-founded, led, funded and advised companies spanning three continents, including early dotcom's sixdegrees.com and Rare Medium Ventures. Recent projects include Horizen Partners (social venture incubator), Stik.com (Facebook-integrated referrals) and Failure Club (an aspirational collaboration with Morgan Spurlock). He has advised South African start-ups and is now raising Horizen Ventures Africa, an early-stage fund in Cape Town.
He has summited Mt Kilimanjaro, completed two Ironman triathlons and the Comrades Marathon. He sits on the Board of Directors for the Manhattan Chamber of Commerce and was President of the Manhattan Association of Realtors. Philip attended the US Air Force Academy, where he studied Computer Science and Behavioral Science.
