Pascal joined AstraZeneca as an Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer on 1 October 2012.

A French national, 53 year old Pascal joined AstraZeneca from Roche AG where he served as Chief Operating Officer of the company’s pharmaceuticals division since 2010.

Prior to that Pascal was Chief Executive Officer of Genentech, where he was credited with leading the successful merger between the San Francisco-based biologics business and Roche.

Pascal joined the pharmaceutical industry in 1986 and has worked in senior management roles in numerous major companies around the world. He is a doctor of veterinary medicine (École Nationale Vétérinaire d’Alfort, Maisons-Alfort) and holds an MBA from HEC, Paris.
