Oliver Friedrichs is founder and CEO of Immunet.
Prior to Immunet, Oliver spent six years at Symantec, the producers of Norton AntiVirus, serving as Director, Emerging Technologies. In this role he managed Symantec Advanced Threat Research and oversaw the delivery of new technologies to automate the generation of AntiVirus detections.
Oliver served as co-founder at SecurityFocus until the company's acquisition by Symantec in 2002, building the industry's first early warning technology for Internet attacks, the DeepSight Threat Management System.
Prior to SecurityFocus, Oliver served as co-founder and Vice President of Engineering at Secure Networks, Inc., acquired by McAfee in 1998. At Secure Networks, he architected and managed the development of CyberCop Scanner.
Oliver architected and developed a prototype of the industry's first commercial penetration testing product, codenamed SNIPER, acquired by Core Security Technologies in 2001 and further developed to become CORE IMPACT, the market leader for automated penetration testing.
Oliver has over 15 years of expertise in security technologies and has shared his expertise with many organizations, including the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Secret Service, the IRS, the DOD, NASA, AFOSI, and the Canadian DND.
Oliver attended the University of Manitoba, has had several security-related patents issued and is also the co-author of three security related books.
