Michael A. Colglazier is President and Managing Director, Disney Parks International. In this role, Michael oversees the operations and development of Disney’s parks and resorts outside of the United States, including Disneyland Paris, Hong Kong Disneyland, Shanghai Disney Resort and Tokyo Disney Resort with the Oriental Land Company.
Previously, Michael led Disney’s parks in the Asia Pacific region, after serving as President of the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California where he led a workforce of nearly 30,000 cast members. Under his leadership, the resort experienced record business performance and growth, driven by the execution of a successful 60th Anniversary Diamond Celebration, introduction of the Marvel franchise and enhancement of the overall guest experience. He also led efforts for a $2 billion expansion that includes a 14-acre themed land, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.
Michael started his career at The Walt Disney Company in the corporate strategy group and has served in a variety of executive roles since then, including the leadership of Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park in Florida.
Born and raised in Indiana, Michael graduated from Stanford University with a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering. He received his master’s degree from Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration.
Michael is active in his community, and currently serves as chair of the University of California, Irvine’s Chief Executive Roundtable.
