Melissa is the co-founder and Managing Partner of Arbor Ventures with 25+ years of experience in venture capital and as an entrepreneur across Asia and Silicon Valley.
Prior to Arbor Ventures, Melissa was Managing Director and Head of VantagePoint Asia, establishing VantagePoint's investment practice in the region. Prior investments include Finisar (FNSR), NuCore (Mediatek), Pure Digital (Cisco), Oxford Semiconductor (PLX Technology) and iWatt (Dialogics)
Melissa brings with her a unique set of global experience and perspective, with deep technological and innovation prowess anchored in an extensive international network.
She currently sits on the boards of DemystData, Paidy, Quottly, and EverCompliant.
Melissa is on the Board of the HKVCA and is Co-Chair of the HKVCA Venture Committee. She is a Hopkins Fellow and participated in the Women’s Leadership Program at Harvard University. She is a frequent guest lecturer on the venture capital industry at universities in both the US and Asia.
As a thought leader in the global community, Melissa has been recognized as one of the ‘Top 100 Influencers in FinTech’, NxtBnk (2016) and an ‘AlwaysOn FinTech Power Player’ (2015 & 2016) and one of the Most Influential Women in Tech in Asia.
Melissa attended Wellesley College and received a Master’s degree in Finance from the University of Florida. She is the author of the paper “Venture Capital Returns and Public Market Performance”.
