LaVoy Robison has been on the board of The Anschutz Foundation, a private foundation, since January 1998 and was their Executive Director from 1998 to November 2010.
From 1960 until his retirement in 1996, LaVoy was employed by Peat, Marwick, Mitchell & Co. (later known as KPMG), where he was elected a Partner in 1970, specializing in cable television, entertainment, oil and gas, manufacturing and SEC matters.
LaVoy is a Member of the Board of Directors at Discovery Communications, Chairman of the Audit Committee and a Member of the Nominating Committee. LaVoy served as a Member of the Board of Directors at Discovery Holding Company prior to Discovery Communications becoming a public company.
LaVoy serves on the boards of Liberty Interactive Media and The Anschutz Foundation.
LaVoy was a Member of the Board of Directors at old Liberty from June 2003 to May 2006.
LaVoy is a past Chairman of the Professional Ethics Board of the Colorado Society of CPAs and a past Member of the Executive Committee of the National Advisory Council of the Marriott School of Management of Brigham Young University.
LaVoy holds a Bachelor's degree in Accounting from Brigham Young University.
