Kurt has spent a decade as an entrepreneur and academic working on the physics, chemistry, and economics of capturing carbon dioxide from industrial sources and managing that CO₂ profitably for enhanced oil recovery.

Previously, Kurt did private equity and corporate advising with Bain & Company. He holds a B.S. in physics from the Claremont Colleges and a Ph.D. in geoscience from Harvard University. In 2009, he was named one of the “Top 35 Innovators Under 35” by Technology Review magazine.
