My lifelong love of mathematics led me to take dual degrees in math and economics at Duke, and then to start my career at Goldman Sachs during the early days of quantitative hedge funds. While the macro perspective across industries and asset categories was fascinating, I wanted to balance that with qualitative perspectives. So eventually I moved into a more micro-focused environment where I had the opportunity to do deep dives into individual investments.

While getting an MBA at MIT, I was drawn toward business models driven by the potential of technology itself. Venture investing is an obvious example of this, and I was delighted to join the General Catalyst team and contribute to its culture of collaborative exploration. Here, I am able to work across multiple fronts, including supporting the hatching of startups and portfolio companies.

The big loves outside of work are my family, competitive triathlons, and time spent teaching and learning from my three kids. I’m also on the leadership council for the Boston area chapter of Year Up, an organization that helps young adults greatly increase their career potential through training and education.
