Head of Merchant Banking EMEA, Nomura International. Mr. Sugiyama manages more than $1 billion in private equity assets in Europe and the U.S., having joined Nomura in 1995.

He has 10 years private equity experience in venture companies and mid- to large-cap buyout, both in Tokyo and London. Prior to that he was a vice president of the private banking division in Tokyo. He holds a B.A. in Economics from Waseda University.
