Lux Capital joined Lux Capital in 2020.Chief Executive Officer Mr. DeFonzo has more than ten years’ experience with medical technology in a variety of sales and marketing roles. He began his career in surgical sales for Fortune 500 companies with a focus in spinal implants and biologics. More recently, he has pursued opportunities with smaller organizations and earlier staged ventures. He has held a number of positions with EndoGastric Solutions over the last four years and now leads the organization's marketing and strategic planning efforts.

Prior to EndoGastric Solutions, Mr. DeFonzo has held sales positions with Medtronic Sofamor Danek and Source Surgical, distributing for companies such as NuVasive, Abbott Spine, Saint Francis Medical Technologies, and Leica Microsystems.

In addition, he has held sales and marketing management position with Invuity. His background has provided him with experience in a variety clinical spaces ranging from gastroenterology to neurosurgery, across a range of technology from implants to capital equipment.

He holds a BA in Economics from University of California, Berkeley.
