Jeremy Burton is the Chief Marketing Officer of Dell, directly responsible for the global marketing structure, strategy, and all aspects of Dell’s enterprise marketing efforts including brand, communications, digital and field & channel marketing. In addition to his marketing responsibilities, Burton leads Corporate Development where is responsible for M&A and venture capital investment activity. He is based at Dell’s offices in Santa Clara, California.
Burton joined Dell through its combination with EMC, where he served as President, Products and Marketing. In this role, he was responsible for product divisions within EMC’s Information Infrastructure business, including Product Strategy, R&D, Operations, CTO Office, Global Alliances and Global Marketing. Burton joined EMC in 2010 as Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer and extended EMC's presence and relevance on the world stage, building and guiding EMC's global reputation and brand.
Prior to EMC, Burton has held several senior leadership roles including President and CEO of Serena Software, Group President of Symantec’s Security and Data Management business and Executive Vice President of the Data Management Group and Chief Marketing Officer at VERITAS. Earlier in his career, he spent nearly a decade at Oracle, culminating in the role of Senior Vice President of Product and Services Marketing.
Burton holds a bachelor's degree in information systems engineering from the University of Surrey, England.
