Bill Gurley has served as a general partner at Benchmark since 1999. Gurley led the firm’s Series A investment in Uber (IPO 2019), and currently sits on the boards of Instawork, Good Eggs, HackerOne, Nextdoor, Solv, Stitch Health, and Stitch Fix, among others. Recent exits include Vessel (acquired by Verizon), DogVacay (recently combined with Rover), Brighter (acquired by Cigna), and Stitch Fix’s IPO. Before entering the venture capital business, Gurley spent four years on Wall Street as a top-ranked research analyst, including three years at CS First Boston. Gurley also maintains a blog on the evolution and economics of high technology businesses called Above the Crowd.
