As founder and CEO of Zytara, Al Burgio leads the development and strategic direction of the company. Al also founded Console Connect in 2011, the pioneer of software-defined interconnection. He has been a serial entrepreneur for over 20 years with diverse experience across various industries including the financial industry and multiple areas of technology. During his time with Console as CEO, he raised in excess of $60 Million in capital from leading Silicon Valley venture capital firms, secured multiple Fortune 500 companies as customers, expanded the company’s platform into over 20 countries and was a recognized innovator with patents granted in the areas of Internet Architecture and Routing. In 2017, Console was acquired by PCCW and the platform continues to win awards globally.

Al re-entered the financial technology industry in 2017 by initially founding DigitalBits, an open-source blockchain project and protocol with a primary focus on supporting branded currencies, inclusive of the emerging category of branded stablecoins.

Al has been an active public speaker on an array of topics including Internet architecture and financial technology, having also been interviewed by Larry King discussing the mass adoption of blockchain technology. Al is also a member of the board of directors of Innovate Niagara, a non-profit innovation center helping entrepreneurs with leading-edge ideas to start, grow and succeed.
