iSTAR Medical SA was created in 2010 as a spinout of Healionics Corporation with support from Belgium's Region Wallonne government.
In 2011, iSTAR expanded to its new eco-friendly R&D and Manufacturing facility in CREALYS Scientific Park near Namur, Belgium.
By 2012, iSTAR received ISO 13485 and ISO 9001 Quality Systems Certifications and achieved CE Mark approval of its first device - STARflo™ Glaucoma Implant.
